Waxahachie’s Premier Paint Correction Specialist

What Is Paint Correction?

As tempting as it is for us detailers to geek out and explain every last detail of our paint correction knowledge and processes, I am going to keep it simple. Paint correction is the process of using proper chemical abrasives and polishing equipment in order to remove surface level defects, scratches, swirl marks, bird dropping etchings, tree sap etchings, and haze from your vehicle’s paint.

Paint correction plays a vital role in restoring your car’s shine. It is a meticulous process that is aimed to enhance the clarity and depth of the paint, revealing a flawless finish. The goal is not just to mask imperfections but to eliminate them entirely by carefully removing a very thin layer of clear coat or paint. Experience your car’s beauty like never before!

We always recommend adding a layer of protection to all corrected vehicles such as a ceramic coating in order to protect your newly corrected paint.

Why Spend Money On Paint Correction?

Well, there are 3 reasons:

  1. First, paint enhancement and paint correction work takes hours of TIME. Most of our paint correction jobs take us 5-8 hours depending on size and condition of the vehicle.

  2. Automotive paint correction is an amazing way to bring your car’s paint back to life and give it a gloss and shine like never before without spending an arm and a leg on a new paint job.

  3. And finally, we as professionals have spent months researching, training, and practicing our paint correction and ceramic coating craft to become skilled enough to transform the look of any vehicle back to an unimaginably glossy finish that makes the customer say “WOW” every time.

Advantages Of Paint Correction

Paint correction is a specialized process that involves restoring the shine and smoothness of a car's paintwork. By addressing imperfections such as swirl marks, oxidation, and other paint defects, paint correction can transform the appearance of a vehicle and bring back its original luster. Let's explore some of the key advantages of paint correction.

  1. Improved Aesthetics: Over time, your vehicle’s paint can accumulate various imperfections that diminish its overall appearance. These can include fine scratches from improper washing of the car or the use of automated car washes. With paint correction, these imperfections are carefully removed, resulting in a dramatically improved finish and overall sleek look for your vehicle.

  2. Increased Value: Whether you plan on selling your car or simply want to maintain its value, investing in paint correction will naturally have a positive effect on your vehicle's resale price. A well-maintained exterior with a flawless finish is highly desirable among potential buyers or collectors, making your vehicle look better than the rest.

  3. Long Lasting Results: Unlike temporary solutions like waxing, which only provides short-term enhancements, paint correction delivers long-lasting results. By addressing the root causes of imperfections and treating them at a deeper level, the corrections made during this process will keep your car looking fantastic for a long time, as long as you maintain it properly. (We always recommend having a ceramic coating or protection of some form applied to corrected paint to increase the longevity of your car’s shine.)

Our Paint Correction Process

  1. Wash and Decontaminate: We start by thoroughly washing the car to remove dirt, grime, and contaminants. Then we use a clay bar or decontamination mitt to remove embedded particles from the paint surface to ensure a super smooth and clean surface.

  2. Assess the Paint: We will inspect the paint under good lighting to identify defects, while we take note of scratches, swirls, water spots, and other imperfections.

  3. Choose the Right Products: We use proper paint prep chemical as well as polishes and compounds to ensure we get the best results from our paint correction process.

  4. Compound Stage: The compound stage is where we will do most of the heavy cutting, removing 65%-80% of the scratches and other defects from your paint using a compound liquid and our dual action rotary polisher.

  5. Polishing Stage: The polishing stage is when we swap out to a less aggressive polishing pad and polishing liquid in order to bring back the super glossy and mirror-like finish to your vehicle’s paint. This is when the paint starts to look amazing!

  6. Inspect and Evaluate: Once all paint correction has been completed, we will go over the entire vehicle with inspection lights to ensure we didn’t miss any spots and your paint’s defects have been removed as much as possible.

  7. Protection: Now that we’ve properly corrected your paint and it is looking amazing, of course we want to protect that amazing looking paint so that it doesn’t get damaged again! Paint scratches and defects are impossible to avoid, which is why we apply protection to all of the vehicles that we correct. The most durable and long lasting one being a ceramic coating, or you can opt for a sealant which is more budget friendly.

  8. Final Inspection: Now we will do one last final inspection with our detailing lights to make sure that everything looks perfect before giving the vehicle back to our customer!

Paint Correction FAQs

Do you offer ceramic coatings? Absolutely! Ceramic coatings are a great option to protect your paint from the weather and other elements as well as improve the overall appearance of your car’s paint. You can read more about our ceramic coatings here. You can also stay with the more traditional wax/sealant for no extra charge.

How long do the results last? After your paint is corrected, the next step after that is proper maintenance! You have to properly (and routinely) wash and dry your vehicle moving forward, to maintain the swirl-free finish. If you don’t, you’ll be right back to square one.

Where are you located? Our detailing and ceramic coating shop address is 401 S Flat St Suite 3, Waxahachie, TX 75165. We are right across the street from the Waxahachie jail and around the corner from the parking garage. Depending on the level of work your vehicle needs, the job could take 1-2 days to complete.

What tools and products do you use? A wide variety of machines, pads, polishes, compounds, cleaners, towels, and lights will be used to work on your vehicle. We use professional grade products that have been tested and are safe on car paint. Every car is slightly different and requires different methods and tools.

What’s the difference between a wax and paint correction? A wax does not remove imperfections like swirls and scratches from your paint. It only temporarily hides the light swirls/scratches and can be completed in a few hours. Paint correction on the other hand, actually removes the scratches and defects from your paint and takes a lot of time to properly complete. This is what makes your paint have unmatched shine and gloss. Most paint correction jobs take around 1 day to complete (depending on size, condition, and desired results).
